• Aloha
In the Hawaiian language, ALOHA stands for much more than just hello and goodbye.
Its deeper meaning is the joyful sharing of life energy (ha) in the present (alo).
To live the Spirt of Aloha is to create positive feelings and thoughts, and spread them around.

  • About the signposts
The inspiration for this series of paintings came from a vintage Hawaiian photograph
of old wooden signs casually hanging from a rustic fence. The character and aesthetics
of those signs told a timeless story and evoked many fond memories. Edyta instantly
thought of her own favorite spots in Hawaii and decided to create this series to keep the
memories of places we love alive. In the process that eventually leads to an oil painting
on canvas, a real directional signpost is built and stood in a carefully chosen location.
The signs are hand painted on authentic beach wood. After about one month and many
thin layers of oil paint, original painting is completed. Edyta relies solely on her
imagination to enrich the scenery and capture the spirit of the place.
